Trinity Fellowship Church - Our Pastors

Our Pastors

We believe that the general and spiritual oversight of the church should be carried out by shared pastoral leadership.  In the words of one man, biblical church leadership “is a biblically qualified council of men that jointly pastors the local church” (Alexander Strauch).  Their task is to “see where God wants people to be, and to take the initiative to get them there by God’s means in reliance on God’s power” (John Piper).

Our pastors (or elders and overseers, as the Scriptures otherwise call them) are eager to fulfill those tasks and ministries which these words suggest.  They are to pastor or feed and shepherd the flock of God.  They are to be elders, that is, men who are experienced in the faith and show evidence of the wisdom that such experience produces.  They are also to be overseers, men who watch over the Lord’s people, who defend them and who care for them in their needs.

We are glad to offer pastoral care that seeks to serve your needs for your growth in Christ.

Tim Bowditch
Fellowship and Family Life Pastor

Tim and his family joined Trinity Fellowship Church in February, 1991, seven months after the church was established.   He has served on the Pastoral Team since November 1998.  He and his wife, Pat, have been married for 32 years and have three children.  Tim’s blessed family life, together with 30 years of career experience working with families in crisis, in addition to his completion of the two-year certificate program of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF) all strengthen his pastoral ministry within the church.

Tim serves as our Fellowship and Family Life Pastor by devoting pastoral oversight to our Care Group Ministry and Parent-Youth Ministry.  He is also involved in our Worship Team, Prison Ministry and more.  His ministry to our church has been extensive and diverse, with a special concern for the next generation.  This youth-orientation probably reveals that he is much younger in heart than he actually is.

Tim Shorey
Senior Pastor

Tim has been serving in full-time pastoral ministry in Ocean County, NJ, since 1982, and was a founding pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in August 1990.  He and his wife, Gayline, have been married for 27 years, and have six children.  Tim received his early Christian training from parents committed to Christ through missionary and pastoral ministry.  His formal training was at Northeastern Bible College.

Tim serves as TFC’s primary teaching pastor and also leads the Pastoral Team in its ministry to the entire congregation.  He is also a lifelong New England sports fan whose loyalty, he would want it duly noted, has been recently and abundantly rewarded.
